"Pink Hair", is a mixed media, painting on archival paper.
Just so appreciative that I can spend time with my family, my art community and the creative process.
Rendering the female figure is still a favorite, with adult or children, the passion is with me to practice my skills and grow everyday. I love working on a watercolor 300lb or 400lb hot press paper, which allows a multitude of materials and techniques. Here I allow my base acrylic paint to show through the figure. The way the upper portion looks is how I prepped the entire sheet. Then adding high lights and low lights with paint, pastel and pencil my figure emerges using some of the negative space to integrate with my figure.
Again my love show in the use of mass areas and linear work. And the pink/teal hair makes it's appearance again.
This is not a terribly big piece, but does require glass. The paper measures 21" x 12 1/2", but expose an area of approximately 17" x 9 1/2" through the opening of a mat. I would then add approximately a 4" mat to top and sides and a 4 1/2 bottom mat for visual weight.
